Who We Are
A Unified Health System
We got our start 125 years ago as a boarding house and medical facility for people traveling in Central California. If people then could see us now... Today, Community Health System is the region’s largest healthcare provider and includes three divisions: Community Medical Centers hospitals, Community Care Health and Community Provider Network. These three pillars of healthcare – hospitals, health insurance and physicians – work best when they work together.
We are driven by our mission — to better the lives of all those we serve.
Our Commitment to Diversity: All are Welcome
As a locally owned and operated healthcare network, Community Health System respects and celebrates the Central Valley’s rich and diverse heritage. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is a cornerstone of our patient care and work culture. All are welcome as valued members of our community whether patient, employee, physician, student or visitor.
Where You'll Work
Although they are within a 10-mile radius of one another, each location has its own unique opportunities. We offer you different options within the same healthcare system to find the perfect working environment for you.
COMMUNITY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
Community Regional Medical Center is the largest of our three main hospitals. This academic-affiliated, Level 1 Trauma Center is located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno. It features one of the largest and busiest emergency departments in California as well as a comprehensive burn center. If you like action and continual learning, then you'll like Community Regional.
CLOVIS COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER
Clovis Community Medical Center opened at its current location as 109-bed hospital in 1988. Since then, there's been nothing but growth. Today, Clovis Community has 352 private patient rooms. We've added a $68 million freestanding Cancer Institute and other specialty programs and now perform more than 13,000 surgeries annually.
FRESNO HEART & SURGICAL HOSPITAL
Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital opened in 2003 as a dedicated cardiovascular surgery hospital and expanded to include bariatric and general surgery in 2006. With those changes, this 57-bed hospital in north Fresno has quietly become a worldwide leader in bariatric and metabolic surgery. Without an emergency department, the pace of this hospital is steadier than most.
